2008 Privacy Academy in Orlando

The IAPP is pleased to announce the following winners of the 2008 HP-IAPP Privacy Innovation Awards. These distinguished organizations were honored at the recent IAPP Privacy Academy in Orlando, Florida:

  • The Victorian Department of Justice (Victoria, Australia) in the Large Organization Innovation category for their “Privacy Awareness Week” initiative and related campaigns for “Privacy Matters” and “Taking Responsibility” targeted to the public sector across Victoria;
  • The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (Washington D.C., U.S.A.) in the Small Organization Innovation category for their comprehensive, agency-wide employee training program and “File Clean-up Day” initiative; and,
  • PRIME: Privacy and Identity Management for Europe (Kiel, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland) in the Technology Innovation category for their unique technology platform that combines access control, data retention and policy elements and is the result of a massive industry and research collaboration under the leadership of IBM.

The IAPP congratulates these proud winners and thanks all nominees and judges who participated in the 2008 contest.
